The Commodores Chamber Groups, RAN Band Sydney will present another concert as part of their new Lunchtime Chamber Series at the beautiful St. Benedict's Catholic Church, cnr Broadway and Abercrombie Street, Broadway.

Admission is FREE.

Join us for the second concert in this limited season of classical chamber music, performed by the Commodore's Chamber Ensembles from RAN Band Sydney.

St Benedict’s is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest train stations are Central and Redfern. A number of buses stop at Broadway Shopping Centre just up the road from St. Benedict's.

NRL ANZAC Memorial Game

Parramatta Ells take on Penrith Panthers in memory of the fallen ANZAC hero's. Pre-game will feature a memorial service by the Australian Defence Force in memory of the fallen. Last post and Reveille performed by Phill O'Neill.

RAN Band Sydney will bring their Wind Orchestra back to St.Andrew's Cathedral to present their third BAND CALL concert of 2017. Amongst other pieces, 'Sunset' and 'I am Australian' song will be performed to honour the 75th anniversary of Australia's two most devastating sea battles, The Battle of the Java Sea and the Coral Sea as well as commemorating the 100 years of ANZAC.

Lunchtime Chamber Series at St. Benedict's

Join us for the second concert in this limited season of classical chamber music, performed by the Commodore's Chamber Ensembles from RAN Band Sydney. This afternoon's concert will feature the woodwind trio, with a combination of flute, clarinet, Basoon, Trumpet and Bongos. Performing works by composers Kummer, Eler, Washburn & Hause.

Phill & Rebecca Lloyd-Jones will be performing Street Jam, a modern work for trumpet and bongos by Evan Hause. Street Jam is a crisp and punchy work where the trumpet and bongos work together, against each other and try to upstage each other at times.

Ara Gevorgyan "Remember Tour"

Following his sold out concert in 2006, Ara Gevorgyan will be returning to Sydney in 2017 as part of his “Remember” Tour, in what will be an evening of splendid music and dance.

The event will feature over 100 entertainers on stage, consisting of Ara’s 14-piece traditional ensemble from Armenia, the 44-piece Ryde Hunters Hill Symphony Orchestra, local dance groups and guest soloists from various countries.

Recognised as one of Armenia’s finest composers, Ara is a pioneer of Armenian music, presenting his works by fusing folk and classical melodies with modern rhythms and sounds. Tagged as the Aram Khatchatourian of the 21st century, he has worked with high profile artists of different nationalities, composing unforgettable pieces such as Adana which has been sung in 14 different languages around the world. Ara’s work has been widely accepted and enjoyed throughout the world and his music is used by all Armenian dance groups globally, including the Armenian State Dance Ensemble.

Royal Australian Navy Band comes to Wagga Wagga

The Royal Australian Navy Band from Sydney will be performing a special FREE concert at the Civic Theatre. Please RSVP by securing tickets to the event.

The performance will showcase two of their world class ensembles, the Wind Orchestra and the Admiral’s Own Big Band. The concert will feature traditional concert band music and songs from our vocalists, finishing with a dynamic performance by the Admiral’s Own Big Band. 

The Sydney Band has a strong national and international focus and maintains versatile music capabilities, specialising in the delivery of ceremonial music, traditional and contemporary wind music, and popular music products. 

In recent years members of the Sydney and Melbourne Bands have participated in a number of overseas deployments including to the Middle East, Turkey (Gallipoli), Timor Leste and the Solomon Islands; to locations all around the world aboard Royal Australian Navy ships; and to musical gatherings such as military tattoos in Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, China, Hong Kong and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland.

Celebrating the Anniversary of the legendary recording.

“Hot August Night”, PETER BYRNE brings Neil Diamond to you together with a 30 piece symphony Orchestra.

It is over 44 years since Neil Diamond stepped on stage at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles with a symphony orchestra and recorded what is still known today as one of the greatest epic live albums of all time. Now that album will be re-created in its original format in a national tour by Peter Byrne and the Sydney International Orchestra.

Featuring classic songs Crunchy Granola Suite, Cherry Cherry, Sweet Caroline and I am I said…see the same spontaneous display of energy and sensuality of Neil diamond with the superb talents of Peter Byrne.
